Hi Mark, I need to either rebuild the my Pro Planer control box or buy a replacement one. I've worked through the PDF file that you posted on the modifications you have done. I would like to provide you some feed back and see if you have any new information regarding the control. Please e-mail me as...

Planer Upgrade Project -

Very nice post and Thank you for posting the information. I have read your post and wondered in the back of my head if or when I might need this information. Well last night my control box went. When I plug it in and turn it on all by its self it trips the backer in my shop. The AC motor still works...

Pro Planner vibration

I just had my control for my planner go and in searching for information I asked Bill if he had any for sale. He couldn't help me but in the e-mail mentioned that he has fixed several planners vibration problems that were due to a bent Jack Shaft. If the pulling isn't the problem check to see if any...

Thank you for the excellent discussion. It looks like a split. The angle is for design, and it maybe off in the diagram as I'm still working on the exact angle (approximately 67 degrees). It is inspired by Scandinavian designs. They tend to have a different bend to children's furniture. The seat wil...

Mortise and Tenons -

My wife has asked me to make some chairs for our grand children. A chair to bridge the gap between High Chair and Adult chair. I have been working on a unique design that would allow seat height to be changed to adjust it to the child's height. The legs of the design are like a letter "L" ...

IMHO hold off, unless there is more than what can be seen in the photo. Personally, I would look for a 510 or 520. The tables are larger on the 510 and 520s and the fences system is nicer. It appears to have some rust on it, how much rust, would need to be evaluated in person. Rust can be difficult ...

If you wait for them to put it on sale you can save some $$'s. I picked up the 2008 version on sale and then received an offer for the 2009 one at a fraction of the cost of new (don't recall now what the price was), but it was worth updating. I have both, but didn't pay $150 for the pair. Wait for t...

The SS model will bolt right up to the SS Band Saw and comes with all the hardware. The Woodcraft one has all the same parts minus the SS mounts. Shopsmith purchased the Kreg unit and than packages with it the hardware and parts and instructions to mount it to your SS Bandsaw. It is a mater of conve...
