Re: The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread

I would be more suspicious of the start switch. Does not run = great price reduction bargaining factor. I picked up the saw for $75. If I can't get it running, the stand and parts are worth that. It also had the "add a tool" accessory. I probably wont use it since I have a Shop Smith and ...

Re: The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread

Thanks.

The switch works and power goes to the motor assembly. You can hear the motor wanting to turn. I did find capacitor on line. The original was a Mepco/Centralab brand. 243-292 MFD, 110 VAC, 60Hz. My biggest concern now is getting the arbor off the saw. It is stuck.

Re: The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread

What size capacitor does the Sawsmith use? I'm looking at one tomorrow and it may need one. The current owner says it powers on but the blade will not turn. I'm guessing it is the capacitor and in need of a good cleaning. Thanks.

Re: Shopsmith 20" Scroll Saw vs Excalibur EX30 Scroll Saw Review

I have the stand alone version of the Shop Smith scroll saw and enjoy it. However, the problem is finding time to get in the shop to do projects. I like using the Flying Dutchman blades that are available online at https://mikesworkshop.com. Some of my input follows... Pros- - A good saw... however,...

I appreciate you guys for your help and feedback Tom This link to the upgrade should have the part numbers you are looking for on the parts diagr...

Re: Went to the store to get some keys made

I'm for going to a real person behind the counter at a hardware store that can make the key and polish the burs afterwards. The real bugger is if you need a new key fob for your car... It will need programmed before you can use it. There is a programming sequence for most. Dealers want to charge $80...
