Re: conical sanding.disc

I've only used my conical disk for sharpening plane and jointer blades. I have been unsuccessful jointing the edge of boards. The edges I have sanded are usually not at right angles to the faces. The problem I had was getting the angle of the table perfectly at right angles to the slope of the disk...

Re: Add-on Bench

This may not be quite what the topic started out. But I think this is similar. I built the scissor lift workbench from Woodsmith #217 a couple of weeks ago. I love it. I'm always working at the right height. Oh and the vise is a genuine Wilton that I stole a few years ago for $5. I tried unsucessfu...

83 is the motor. Did you mean 84?

Look for 9.
The online parts list shows 83 as a pivot screw, 85 as a washer and 86 as a spacer washer.

That's the only thing I could find that looks like my parts. The planer is also on a stand but I couldn't find anything close there either.

Fell off my Pro Planer - Where does it go?

I was planing some wood yesterday and when I got done I found this laying on the floor under the Pro Planer. I checked the parts diagram and the only parts I could find that looked like this are parts 83, 85, and 86. I checked but those parts are still in my planer. What else could they be and where...

Re: Pro Planer speed control box problem

............ Since then I have used the planer heavily and it still works just fine. I have run thousands of linear feet through the planer and haven't had a single hiccup. I see from your earlier photo on page 10 that you kept the on/off switch. Do you like that and see any reasons the extra feed ...

Re: Pro Planer speed control box problem

I would just be sure the lamp dimmer actually controlled the speed properly. Worst case is the triac in the lamp dimmer doesn't turn off every half cycle of the 60Hz, and you get full feed speeds when you don't want it. I did the original repair that started this thread but I know very little about...

Re: Portable Table

How about a mesh pouch like they use on the folding outdoor chairs?

An appropriate and very nice first project. The more woodworking you do the more jigs and fixtures you will build.

Re: Spiders in the Workshop

I think I found a solution. I believe my problem stems from the belief that the spiders don't contact the areas that I have sprayed. Even though I sprayed around all of the doors and the perimeter of my basement, somehow some spiders bypassed that path and got in. Once in, they hang around the ceili...

Re: Problem Ripping a Groove

I don't see how this could really be blade oscillation. I think if it were blade oscillation it would make the entire groove wider not just the top. How can the blade just oscillate at the top of the groove? When cutting the blade enters the wood where the workpiece contacts the table and continues ...
