Do a really good lubrication of the control sheave and the motor floating sheave. A zoom spout oiler work well for this. Bill, how do you sugge...

Re: It just got extremely peaceful.
The only time that it is this quiet around here is when I first get up in the morning, while I am having my first cup of coffee. My hearing aid has gone south. I have no hearing in one ear and very little in the other. The doctor tells me that it is most likely due to my exposure to jet noise from ...

Re: Jointer question.
YES. I have a early version joiner that Tony Mann (backhertz) and I rebuild 4-5 years ago and I never used. I recommend upgrading to the new feather guard kit on these joiners. Shipping of this heavy item is very expensive these days.

Re: Need your opinions
I have been offering this space saving solution with a similar capability to the Shopsmith Shop Deputy Work Center Conversion Kit with an added base, base arm, tie bar and headrest included, only needing a Mark V headstock for a full MINI functionality. You only need a 12" X 38" area to us...

The invoice that he had says he got and paid for level 1. 'Reasonable' conjecture would be he got more than that(legs etc.). 'Unfounded' conjecture would be some other things resident here especially that which ignores already established 'facts'(records from that time simply do not exist in comput...

Re: Roll pin specs
I believe it is a 1/8" X 3/4" roll pin. I will check tomorrow to make sure. Any Ace, hardware or big box store carry these roll pins.masonsailor2 wrote:Anyone have the specs on the roll pin that attaches the headstock lock lever to the shaft ?

Re: Cutting Metal with Shopsmith MK V and Speed reducer
Anyone do it? What sort of thickness have you tried for steel? Does anyone know the SSFPM of the bandsaw with the motor turned down to 100? I'm not looking to cut metal daily or set any production records, but I do run into issues at times and I am wondering what a speed reduced shopsmith bandsaw c...

Re: Building a Shorty
On to the next project. I picked up the remaining parts in Kansas City, MO this morning, to build a Shorty using left over parts from the last 2 projects. Still trying to come up with the final size of the bench and way tubes. Stay tuned. After playing with 28", 30", 32", 34" &a...
