Re: Miter Gauge Extension Fence

Thanks for the pix and ideas John. In the bottom picture there is a grey metal stand under the table. It looks like it is adjustable in height and could be used as an outfeed stand...looks pretty stable too. Am I close on what it is and does? Where'd you get it?

Re: Miter Gauge Extension Fence

Thanks alot for the pictures and your use of the fence. I wonder if anyone out there has used the other fence that Shopsmith sells, #555429 ?

Re: Miter Gauge Extension Fence

How well does the lower half of that fence allow very thin stock to be held in place? Reason for question is it looks like the recessed edge at the bottom could allow narrow stock to roll up into the recess.

"algale", I'm wondering what features convinced you to choose the 20" versus the 24" version that Shopsmith sells?

Miter Gauge Extension Fence

I'm interested in knowing what anyone is using for an extension fence on their Shopsmith miter gauge.

Thanks!

Re: ripping a bevel

I'm putting a 60^ bevel on 3 pieces 7" long, 3" wide and 3/8" thick to form an equilateral triangle-shaped small tower. I kinda like the idea of using the jointer but I was wondering how to do this on the table saw for a future 4' long piece that I'll eventually cut up into 7" lo...

ripping a bevel

Is it better to rip a 60^ bevel on the table saw or the band saw?
