Although I finished the train table a couple of months ago, I finally got over to the kid's house to take photos in place. Health problems have kept me occupied. The kids decided not to mount the hydraulic hinges and opted instead to use a lock to keep the grandkids from bringing the table down. Whe...

I get the most satisfaction and fun from making things for the grandkids and kids. I can worry and work to make a cabinet or a desk and in my mind never really get it right. Comparing the cost, a piece of furniture from a box would have been half the price. Refinishing can be nice, but again it was ...

After watching ThisOldHouse, and the many ChopShop type shows on TV I am sure that someone would have a fantastic time restoring that once beautiful machine. Personally, I just like to work with wood!:D

Good for you. Finding employment in today's economy is certainly hard enough. Finding a job you can enjoy is wonderful. A good company with a fine reputation in a great location is truly a find. But just a reminder: if you have ever gone through the back doors and been "off stage" at Disne...

Since I tend to use the tools I have at hand, I would use my drum sander with 60 or 80 grit to concave the inside. Band saw and sander to create the outside. I'm sure there a faster ways, I remember reading in one of the table saw handbooks the idea of taking the blank diagonally across the table sa...

Thanks for the comments. I too have been just searching each forum for newer posts. Mostly I wanted to know if it was my PC or a system problem. Since others have shared my frustration I will worry no longer.

When I purchased my SS at a State Fair demo many years ago, I purchased a factory upgraded demo. A 505 upgraded to a 510. It was shipped fully assembled, thank goodness, so I'm not much help with the conversion. However I still have the complete binders for operation and adjustment.
