I use the link belt on my wood lathe. It's an old one and the motor just hangs below the headstock and the wieght of it keeps the tension. A great source of free wood can be the tree trimming crews. It's really easy to get two or more bowl blanks and only takes quick second to cut a round or two. Turn the wood ASAP into oversized blanks and when they dry re-shape them. Try to dry them slowly to keep them from checking. :D
