Plywood: The Choices You Make

Go to Hands Online #12 segment on cutting dadoes and rabbits in plywood.
Scroll down on the blackboard.
I agree it's a great piece, and a bit freightening if your working with that "crap."

Replacement caster wheels

Inasmuch as I'll need about 16 wheels, to replace casters on my 500/510 and now 520 SS, plus the stand alone equipment, I went to the Grizzly site to take a look. They show a 8.2mm bore for the HO727. Doesn't that cause a lot of "space" using a 1/4" dia. shoulder bolt? Can I use 5/16&...

Doug,
I've looked for bandsaw reindeer plans for nearly a year. Your effort is really great. Might it be possible to get a copy of your plans?

Re: the ShopSmith Clock

I'd recommend you head over to http://www.klockit.com. They have dial templates as well as time rings (although they are a smite small). Great clock idea.

Collar assembly

The SS part # used to be 555999, and they sold in sets of four for about $12.00. I ordered two sets during a traveling academy session.
Suprise, today neither a part # nor word search came up with these neat items. Maybe it's just a senior moment for me, but I couldn't find them.

Why I like the SS sharpening guide for my chisels

When I attended one of several of the traveling turning sessions, one of my instructors suggested removing the shaper portion from the guide. It cleared up a lot of space, and my chisels come up sharp. Sorry for the lack of posts, I was sick all summer and ended up is the hospital. I finely escaped ...

My feeble thoughts

As a retired guy, and grandpa, who lives just south of the border and is a fellow American, I'd like to say I appricate your posts. You and I have a lot in common when it comes to crappy weather. As I live in the Province of Wisconsin, I've got to say my years' woodworking thingly only started this ...
