Re: My sawmill is suddenly going to be very busy this year.

I have (or had) 5 ash tres in my backyard I planted about 27 years ago. When I saw the EAB borers were entering the area (Hancock County), I started treating them with ground drench insecticides. After reading Purdue's paper on the EA,I then hired a local company to treat them. Unfortunately, accord...

Re: Magic tape that holds sanding belts together??

I have had a bit of success with FastCap Speed tape. I had tried other method and tapes with little runtime. The FastCap tape is a double sided tape but I just leave the protection strip on it. I have only used it with the 6x48 belts. I bought a bunch of them few years back at a great price but the ...

Two for the price of One?

I haven't seen a Shorty on craigslist in the Indy area. A nice looking pair with a 510 and a converted 500 to a mini.

If I didn't have 3 power stations already I might make an off on the 500.

20504902229_3ebd248772_z.jpg I have been following a nesting pair of bald eagles, just a few miles from my house in Greenfield Indiana. This photo was from the pair early in the spring. I have a couple of Flickr albums following the pair for nearly a year if anyone is interested.. That's an awesome...

Re: out eagle hunting yesterday

Wow! I'm guessing that your lens cost more than a high-end cabinet saw. And probably is almost as large! Aside from persistence and patience, what's the secret sauce? Persistence and patience is definitely a large part of the mix. But like real estate; location, location, location is another...

Re: Any one here do laser engraving?

Check around your local area for a maker space, sometimes called a hacker space. Many of these have access to laser engravers or know someone who does. Our space in Indianapolis, www.clubcyberia.org, has an 80 watt laser which members can rent time on to fabricate and engrave projects. It currently ...

I went to the show for a number of years. I didn't go last year as the number of vendors was way down the last time I went. Most of the vendors are the large stores like Peachtree, etc. The little guys have been priced out of the market. Several years ago you could be local stores in attendance and ...
