Awww, thanks for the comments. Please understand that it's hard not to come off as being "spiteful." Everything in my shop NOW is paid for and all mine. From the 394# anvil to the 110# power hammer and 100T hydraulic press to my 20 yr old SS that I adore and am making my own. I'm an artist...

Thank you for the replies, yes the blade is mounted correctly. I will work at checking everything else out hopefully over the weekend. Concerning the blade question, I had to chuckle, but remembered when my son called to tell me his printer wasn't working. Knowing he'd just moved I asked him if it w...

Motor bogging down.

Hi guys, I got my SS home and she turned on just fine, did some sanding with the disc wheel with no issue. When the replacement saw guard housing came in the mail I put the blade on and tried to rip a 1/2" fence board, the blade/motor it bogged down on me to the point of nearly stopping. Now I ...

Great information and thank you for the feedbacks, you guys are great. :D I am looking at doing only lightweight spinning, and the Penn State kit looks like an attractive way to get started at least to get me feet wet with entry level work. I'm looking specifically to work my way up to chalice like ...

Lathe specs-

Thanks for the replies, I'd be interested in finding out the name of that show too. www.pennstateind.com/store/MSSTART.html According to the PennState website with their metal spinning kit: You’ll need a wood lathe with a 10” swing or larger, 1/2HP motor, 5/8” toolrest holder, 1” x 8tpi headstock an...

Metal Spinning

Has anyone here have any experience with metal spinning? If so I'd love to chat with them.

Thanks.

Hello from MI.

I am a 48y/o mom and grandma from MI. 20 years ago I lost my SS when my ex and I got a divorce (I got the kids :D ) fast forward. I am now an Apprentice Bladesmith, ornamental blacksmith and avid woodworker who is now working on my 4th Victorian home reno. However my other tools take up a lot of rea...

The basic idea is to click on the little paper clip (above), and upload the pictures first (one by one) to the site, then 'post' them to the text area. Once you upload them, by pressing the little down arrow next to the paper clip, you will see the list of pictures you have uploaded, and can click ...

I love it. That's the best, most plausible excuse I've seen so far! Welcome to the forum. We'll all pitch in and gladly help you rebuild as many as your shop will hold. Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I'll be posting pix of the shop shortly. I'm in the process of unpacking after a move, I ...
