I would be surprised if Shopsmith did not offer it. They had everything I needed for my Mark V.

Resawing novice seeks tips

I'm a complete novice at resawing. I had great luck (beginner's luck I guess) resawing some poplar with the 1/2 inch blade that came with the bandsaw. Then I put a new Bosch 1/4 inch, 6 TPI blade on the saw to do some curvy stuff, and when I later wanted to resaw some oak, I thought I'd just leave t...

Yes -- It wanders away from the bearings.

I believe the backside of the blade should ride against the bearings.

Check in there if you want to follow along. What I find funny here is that amidst all this industrial equipm...

Light grease is what they need, not oil. Unless the outer ring is worn, the needles should not jump out. Now please describe the blade parting from the wheel - which wheel (first) and which side(in/out) and where(12= up, 6=down, 3=blade guides, 9=yoke. Also have you checked the cant? Lastly, is the...

Same EXACT situation

My bandsaw came with a 1/2 inch blade that worked great. I recently bought both 1/4 and 1/8 inch blades. I first tried the 1/8 inch and it wanted to walk off the wheels (I was turning by hand with the cover off BTW). Also, my clip holding the lower wheel bearing assembly was bent exactly as the one ...

3-jaw chuck recommendation?

I'm also new to SS and turning, and one accessory I've been thinking about is a 3-jaw chuck. I saw one on eBay that was pretty cheap; it had a plain flat back that I assume would be screwed to a faceplate. Another alternative is to buy an addapter for threaded chucks and thereby open up the options ...

Blade recommendations?

My new-to-me SS bandsaw came with a big 'ol 1/2-inch blade that is great for turning firewood into turning blanks but not so much for creating curvy pinewood derby designs. Locally, I'm limited to the big box stores and the import discount stores--no Woodcrafts around. Any recommendations on where t...
