Pre WW2 standard equipped wood work shop was actually typical of what one might see today. Electric powered stand alone power tools can be seen in Sears Craftsman and Montgomery Ward catalogs well before. In those days, they were pricey and would guess a luxury. I have a small lot of this stuff incl...

It has been said by some naysayers that the Shopsmith table is too small. While it is not as large as some, it need not be considered inadequate. With the simple addition of a home built outfeed table and the utilization of two of the extension tables one can easily have a table top that is 34 1/2&...

I realize this is a month old thread but thought it appropriate to share about centers (rotating or not). Even though the SS accepts centers with a MT2, there is an important difference in the angle and type of center point. For metal working, it often has a more narrow acute angle vs. one for woodw...

Wow what a neat project! With that low of a serial, guessing the headstock has a rough finish or look casting.

Seeing it inspires me to get 10E #6505 back in service. Cheer's!

What model SS to use for metal work? By the time you add it up, might be better to find a Craftsman 109 or small Atlas dedicated metal lathe. (Not a fan of those china made low end lathes and still prefer an old US made. That's another entire topic but for now will stick to the OP.) Yet if one only ...
