Tissue Box Cover

A few weeks ago my wife found a woven fabric tissue box cover and decided she also wanted one made of wood and asked if I could come up with something. My initial thought was to make it out of red cedar so I could try out the Japanese burned wood style of finishing. But, I really liked the look of t...

Re: Working up a custom Flag Case

The heavy base on the flag case looks great. And the cabinet it is sitting on looks pretty special also. The cabinet doors are beautiful. Very nice work!

Re: Shopsmith's new website is up....

If I had a larger workshop space The Shopsmith just does too many things too well and uniquely not to have one in your shop. This has been a very interesting thread, and, like RF Guy, I wish the company all the best and a long and profitable future. We can all agree that Shopsmith's Customer Servic...

Re: Using an Incra miter gauge to set the angle on the Shopsmith miter gauge

Clever idea and super useful I can see for setting those angles not covered by drafting triangles or the Miter Set. Here is another idea to get the job done. Using this angle gauge and a sliding bevel to set the miter gauge.

Re: Glue-joining of Cutoff Pieces for Lumber Recovery

The end-grain butt joint starts at 4:13, but you should watch it all if you haven't seen it. https://youtu.be/Wmw5rayNIV4?si=iNGJ7neF1Q67tC0Z Interesting video...sort of a myth busters about the strength of end grain glue joints. This may be another one of those long held notions, sort of like the ...

Re: What have you purchased from Shopsmith recently?

My order list goes clear back to '94, but as has been already noted, from 2018 on every order is posted twice. 29 years worth of orders...makes a pretty impressive string of orders, even when the doubled ones are removed. I don't think I want to add them all up.
