I may be off base here, but I thought you were looking for a way to adjust the voltage using one source. The best way I know to do this is by using a computer power supply. You have 3 v 5 v and 12 v coming out of this. You also have a few other odd voltage wires in there as well. It has a built in s...

My needs really I have two. One I have found that at my age when driving in a new area it takes me longer to process things like I need to be in this lane and make the next turn. I went through Atlanta with and without Onstar and while the I never got lost or had any real problem the trip using Ons...

If you are going to get a smart phone you need to have reasons why. Getting one just to have one doesn't make much sense. If all you want is a cell phone then just get a cell phone. You will find that most cell phone carriers now don't really sell a cell phone without a data plan. It can be done but...

We put up about 600 C9 LED lights the GE brand around the roof of our home. They have all worked out the past 2 years. I have had a bulb come lose which makes it go out but overall they work. The problem is the lights will last for 100,000 hours but that is only the bulb and not the connection plate...

I don't know what time of year you are going but you can walk the Mackinac bridge on Labor day. They shut down half the bridge, the northbound lanes, and thousands of people walk it. If you don't want to walk the bridge, just avoid the bridge that day as traffic will be horrendous from 6 am through ...

Hi there Bill, Where are you from? I have a used jointer you can have if you like. It is a SS jointer, greenie, and last I used it it worked just fine. The guard that covers the blade is there but the spring does not function. Should be an easy fix I would assume. Depending on where you are, is how ...

Being in Ohio, and watching this story unfold, I just don't know what to think. I had a sister in law that went to the church for a while so I know all about the statue. When they built it originally, the artist messed up with the materials used. They were in the process of evaluating how to fix it ...

Thanks for the replies. I think this is going to be a winter project, or at least November, as I have alot going on for the next month.

Glad to know I can make them out of pretty much anything I have around.

I will look into the different finishes or leaving them un finished as well.

I thought about a salad bowl finish, and also buying some milk paints to color them. I just didn't know if the 2x4s would suffice or if maple, cherry, etc. would be better. I have alot of scraps and could make up several kinds of wood. My thought was one kind would splinter, and another would not. J...

Blocks for Kids

Hi there all, I want to make some blocks that are suitable for toddlers to play with. I am going old school with the toys and want to avoid the electronic crap. That brings me to the good old blocks of my childhood. What kind of wood should I use or not use in my quest of the best block set around? ...
