I would look for a double bearing quill and a upgraded table system. I have a 510 and it is not bad but the 520 looks to be the game winner.

yes, I have built a couple of extensions myself but think the factory job may have some advantages. I am guessing the difference between the E and the F is the E is longer but the stop block doesn't flip up out of the way.

Miter Gauge Extension

I have long term plans to convert one of my Dubby sleds to the 510 but short term I was thinking of purchasing a Shopsmith Miter Gauge Extension. Anyone using one? Any comments would be helpful.

Always good to hear from the newest member to the addiction. Go to the Shopsmith web page and you will find a treasure trove of videos. There are also videos you can order from that site on set up and maintenance. There are the original instruction manuals that will be on ebay. Search for Shopsmith ...

I have an attached 12' x 26' concrete block garage with a concrete deck. I used a infrared 750/1500 heater along with a kerosun 30000 btu heater and I can get it pretty toasty in there.

the Dubby set up is certainly recreateable but he has some nice aluminum pieces with the degree calibrations already stamped on the surface that make it a nice package. i am sure the Shopsmith has a similar set up.
