I see that I am working with 50 + year old technology and that the folks here only care about an old old machine, so I think i'll get rid of my last SS. There are so many reason why my 6 months experience with the SS has been a big let down. I think I will be getting equipment from users that don't ...

I would enjoy having a page devoted to pens as well. Not sure how many of the SS owners here turn pens, but there may be enough to have enough interest in a pen forum. Maybe have to start a poll to find out? Have not turned any yet but plan to as soon as my life slows down a bit in a couple of week...

Another forum that would be useful is a video and picture forum or storage area. Maybe I'll have to setup a web page tha...

Flat disk
Sorry for the confusion. Re-stated - The only thing the flat disk is used for in my shop is smoothing convex curved edges. Sanding concave curved edges is done by hand, sanding drums or the Strip Sander Conical disk is best for straight edges, and sharpening planer/jointer blades. Hey, I use the fl...

Nothing wrong with 'unstructured' thoughts. Thence is where inspirational, original, creative, stupid, impractical ideas emanate!:D Back with my former employer it was called shot gun sessions. No thinking, no pre-judging, just pure mind dump of whatever presented itself to the concious being...

Gas Washington State
I have noticed that the traffic in Washington State has gotten much better since the price of gas has gotten so high. The politicians love it. They have been pushing hard for more people to ride the Transit and they are. It going to be much easier here at least to push the stupid light rail thru the...
