Looks like this setup could be used to spool fishing line too. At least to remove the old line.

I do not have the Joint Matic, so I cannot answer that part of the question. The pictures I am able to see on a search don't seem to show this fence with the Joint Matic. It may have been posted previously, and I haven't tried, but it looks to me like the HF folding 1000# Engine Crane or a Craigslist "patient lift" might work. It would eliminate mounting and store reasonably well. Has anyone with an engine crane tried using it for moving SPTs?

This link should picture what you have. The picture in the link shows 510/520 version(2 adjustment controls). Yours, with one is likely for the 500.

Old Jointer guard

I went through a similar experience last year. I had some of the parts, but not all. I ordered the featherguard upgrade. It was backordered for a l-l-long time. SS split the order for me and sent the post, spring, and washers. The new top cap is a little different but will fit.
