Shopsmith marketing

This is exactly the type of info mercial Shopsmith needs. Lots of hype lots of flash, and lots of idea plants. Then they need to make $3500+ sound like 4 easy payments of $39.99  Good point, just what is Shopsmith doing now to market thier products? Seems like when ever I mention Shopsmith to ...

the 510 is the best deal

The shopsmith jointer, IMHO makes the deal. As I have said here before and as all true wood workers know, all woodworking starts on the jointer. With the bandsaws ability to re-saw stock and the jointer to true the stock add the shopsmith and you have one very good set up. All you need to add is a p...

Impressive

I have to say WOW as well, very impressive job with finish and design. As a woodworker I really like the look of contrsating woods with clear finish applied. Do you have any pics of this underconstruction? I would love to see the framing and how the strips were applied during construction. Welcome t...

Toolmonger post

I just read and had to comment on the Shopsmith bashing on that site. What's up with these people? I am thinking they have not had any expierence with the machine or they don't understand what the shopsmith was designed for. I have to admit I have never used a MKV, I have a MKVII and I can assure yo...

you know your a wood worker when:

You dive your neighbors dumpster for a few pine boards or

you know your a wood worker when your wife says "honey, how much money did you spend on the tools in the basement? Your heart races, and your first thought is, do I tell the truth or lie?

Mark 7 or MKVII

I would guess Shpopsmith is useing the name Mark 7 because they don't own the copywright for the name MKVII. The original MKVII was built as the improved replacement of the MKV in the early 1960's by Magna. They were only produced for 4 years and under 10,000 units. The VIIs were more expensive, man...

Parallel Tube Router Jig

I spotted this on another woodworking site. Looks like the concept would work with the shopsmith way tubes. This jig is being used to plane a long wood slab.

Shopsmith dual arm jig

Thanks for the positive responses on the Jig idea of a Shopsmith dual arm saw. I have a friend who is a hydraulic engineer, he works for a compnay here who builds and designs hydraulic systems. I ran it past him and he liked the idea and agreed to design and build a bearing slideing table to fit the...

Shopsmith as a dual arm saw

Just a thought, has anyone ever used a shopsmith as a dual arm saw. I was thinking a set up like a panel saw, useing the frame tubes to guide a power tool like a skil saw or router? Seems like it would be helpfull when struggling with large or over sized panels.

Shopsmith Customer service

With the recent down turn in the economy I can only imagine the problems at Shopsmith. I and I am sure everyone here hopes they can pull through. With E-Bay and craigslist flooded with used equipment, the big box stores with thier made in china low priced tools they have some compitition. Then you h...
