and if not
If Red don't need 'em, I can use them on my 2nd bandsaw which came without. Can't cost too much to send 'em up to Arkansas.joshh wrote:JPG can use them. I'll tell him to message you (although I bet he reads this anyway )

and back to the original intent of this thread
While i would never consider cheap casters on my SS, I have bought quite a few mover's dollies from Harbor Freight when on sale for $6-8 specifically to get the casters. The dollies are rated for 1000#, so the casters must be 250# rated, right? Anyway, I have mounted them to the bottoms of some meta...

a twist on this theme
This thread did bring up something that has been on the back of my mind for awhile. It would be very handy to have two band saws up and running when doing boxes, but not all of us have the privilege/luxury/wherewithall to have a PowerPro. Nor do we see a stand-alone power station or enough extra SS ...

A couple more and I'm done
My neighbors, for whom I do a lot of work, also garden, so... A dibble is used to make holes in the soil to plant seeds (just in case you city slickers had no clue). And I forgot about making stocking hangers for all the grandkids... (I have to thank Ste...

Wow
Wow! You guys knock me out with the quality of the stuff you build. It inspires me to get MUCH better. I'm so glad someone started this thread because I came online tonight to start one if someone else had not. I'm an amateur at best, but I am getting better. This year was nothing like last year. I ...

An alternative option
Just throwing this out for consideration. I don't know how much used 500s go for on craigslist down your way but it might be easier to set up an impromptu fund and see if we can all pitch in and help this kid get his first Shopsmith. Almost all of us are set up with paypal. I think, personally, I'd ...

Actually
Nice build! The drawers look like they fit perfectly. The drawer boxes are about 1/4" undersized. The bottom drawer just slides on the bottom shelf and the top rides on a couple of wooden rails made from scrap pieces of the cherry. The critical dimensions came in getting the rails at the right...

Clarification, answers, appreciation
I think you guys nailed it as a Rosette Cutter. I have a couple of more pics, comments and questions.... The blades are not tapered. Flat steel with matching profiles at reverse angles. The wedge does indeed raise up on 3 setscrews to secure the blade. The mounting arbor is tapered to fit into the b...

Moms' Day Build
My mom needed something over the head of her bed to put little stuff. I built this little set of shelves with drawers: The case is 7/8" cherry and the drawers are maple with walnut fronts. I kept the design very basic, using dowels to join the uprights to the shelves, and...
