It is that unintentional one that usually creates the problem. A couple of years ago, we had a sow that decided she liked cake. Somebody living in Western Maryland one hot summer had their window open one night and a cake in a dish on the kitchen table. The next morning they had a surprise when they...

What I would recommend is that you call your State Department of Natural Resources. Most states have a Bear (or nuisance animal hotline). They should be able to give you advice on what to do or not do in your area. We have Black Bears here in Maryland (mostly in the western part of the state). But, ...

Design aside, one thought I had is to transport the canoes up on their side (gunnel). An outfitter I once took paddling classes from used to haul his boats this way to get as many onto his racks as possible. Of course you have to make sure they are tied down well. But, essentially they just stick up...

I agree, junk mail is a big part of the Postal Services income. However, the point I received out of this is that the Postal Service does not have the ability to control their rates based on the open market. Their rates have to be passed through and voted upon by Congress. Thus it puts them at a dis...

Here is a little blurb I received not to long ago commenting on legal restrictions imposed upon the US Postal Service by Congress. Unions, Workers Outraged at Post Office Closings According to union spokespersons, the destruction of the U.S. Postal Service is a manufactured crisis intended to advanc...

Dusty is right. Common sense or social sense might work in very small towns (that is if there are any still around). But in most cities and towns, the average postal worker has to tot-the-line (follow a procedure). They are really not given much of a choice or discression beyond what they are requir...

I'm not sure if there really are Shopsmith specific clubs around but you might find a few woodworking clubs here and there. In my part of the world, there is a group called the Carroll Carvers. And, they meet from time to time to share different woodworking skills and ideas. However, I typically see...

I think you will be happy with your purchase. Stihl saws are more expensive than the typical chainsaw brands on the market but the service you get out of it will more than make up for the extra cost. Just make sure to do the recommended maintenance, keep the chain sharpened and it will last you a li...
