Thanks Ed. I am missing the inserts for both my dado blades and my drum sander. Now I have a starting point.

Thanks,

Congratulations Mike. This was a day brightener, and I'm glad you were able to save it.

Prototype #2

I thought I'd put up some pictures of my revised version. This is on a 6 inch faceplate that came with my 1955 Greenie. However, I wonder if it actually is a Shopsmith faceplate? It is steel instead of aluminum and has a slotted screw instead of an Allen screw. The wooden part was turned on the smal...

I think it works pretty well. However, I am very inexperienced. I just started turning, and have not done very much. I wanted a chuck for 1 1/2 inch stock. This works, but your work is not centered exactly. For what I was doing it did not matter. The lathe centered it, and it did not matter that I l...

I wonder if an ultrasonic cleaner with Kroil would get it free. You could get your wife an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and just ask to borrow it for a while. It looks like they run around $30 to $35.

Sorry Joe, but I can't help you. I have never even worked with MDF (I'm very new to woodworking), and this is my first router table. Also, I have two vintage 500's and have only seen pictures of a 510 and a 520.

Router Table Mounted on the Extension Table

This is still in prototype. I may use a small sawhorse with the expanding clamps for the legs, or make some legs just for the router table. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n197/hgfswf/RouterTable09.jpg I also need to make some better fences, or find a way to attach this one better. http://i112.ph...

First Prototype of my Shopsmith Router Table

I used one of my left over counter tops to make my first router table. Here it is from underneath. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n197/hgfswf/RouterTable05.jpg This assembly holds it tightly and makes it easy to remove for adjustments. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n197/hgfswf/RouterTable06...

Thank you Dusty for the pictures. The one with the leveling screws really helped me. I think I know what to do now. Too bad it will have to wait until next weekend. Thanks George for the link. I figured I needed one that was at least 9" X 11" and this one is even bigger. It should work fin...

Hi Tim, Thanks for the tips and the link. I like the clear base; it seems like it might keep you more focused on safety. It may be a little thick for my old router. It only extends an inch above the 1/8" existing baseplate. Now I going shopping to see if I can get any ideas. Thanks, Jerry Flore...
