There was a complete, very good condition, Total Shop 6" jointer listed on eBay less than a year ago. I think they are rarely seen advertised for sale.

I once very carefully used a regular wire brush wheel on the Shopsmith aluminium band saw wheels and replaced the tires with Urethane type tires rather than the factory Rubber type tires. However, I think when I replace them the next time (and I think I will soon) I will use a brass wire brush wheel...

If you do not mind traveling a distance to get a bargain try 'searchtempest.com' It utilizes craigslist but gives results from a range you select. Also, sometimes other sites like: Facebook, Offerup, LetGo, Shopgoodwill and ETBH (Everything But The House) . . . will have a Shopsmith for you. And as ...

I was given an old Mark II and this manual will help.
I have a few Mark V's and Sawsmiths so I am going to give the Mark II to a friend. The quill needs new bearings. But, free is free.

The only thing I have noticed is the splines inside the cup portion, if it is not solidly in place, will strip out. So, how might that possibly happen?
