DLB,
I got your PM and tried to reply twice but both messages are stuck in my outbox. I'd like to get the part from you if you could send a picture of it just to be sure it's what I need.

Broken 510 fence part
A part of the fence on my 510 broke and isn't available from Shopsmith. The broken part is #514259 (#219 in the schematics) and its the lever on the back of the fence which clamps to the rear support tube. I called Shopsmith and was told they no longer provide this part. The only suggestion they had...

Re: Did Shopsmith make a 10er dust cover?
Chapmanruss,
Thanks for sharing the photo. That's just like the one I have. I don't really have any use for it, so I will probably sell it. I just didn't want to list it online without knowing what it was.

Did Shopsmith make a 10er dust cover?
I used to own a 10er, and when I bought it it came with a cloth dust cover. I sold the machine a few years ago and recently found the dust cover in my shop. I can’t find any Shopsmith logos or tags, it’s just a plain white material. Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if this could be an actual Shops...

Causes of bandsaw blade 'wandering'?
I am trying to determine why I have "wandering" cuts on my bandsaw with a 1/4" blade. I normally cut tenons on a tablesaw, but today I tried cutting them on several bandsaws; with mixed results. I have three bandsaws, an 11" Shopsmith, a 14" Delta, and a homemade 16" (W...

Bandsaw: New style table vs. old style table?
I've been using a bandsaw for several years now that has the older style cast iron table. It has been adequate for my work. I just recently acquired a bandsaw with the newer style aluminum table; it also has the fence. Besides having a fence, and being slightly larger, I can't see much of a differen...

Alternative to the Nova chuck?
I’ve been thinking of getting a 3 or 4 jaw lathe chuck and I see that Shopsmith sells the Nova brand. Has anyone used any other brand of chucks?

Re: Options for making veneer for marquetry?
Thanks. I’ve spent a lot of time reading shipwrights posts; here and at lumberjocks. His sander plan is one of the options I’m considering.

Options for making veneer for marquetry?
I'm considering trying to do some basic marquetry. I have a scroll saw, so I think the next thing would be a method of making some veneer. From what I've been learning, I can resaw some thin pieces, but then I will need to plane or sand them to a uniform thickness. I've seen several different ways o...

Re: Main table difficult to raise and lower
Good Grief! Now we will never know the cause of the problem. :( Nowhere did I see any attempt to determine if the tubes were 'parallel'. This MKV was a recent purchase. The seller inherited it from a family member. I believe that some incident caused the main table posts to be bent. Possible ...
