Is the Smart Motor Speed Dial Ring, Back-Up Spring, part# 504196
I'm replacing belts, and adjusting the speed quad/dial on my recently acquired Mark V. I watched a video, and it showed a part that I didn't find on mine. Under the speed dial, there's a spring, called the Smart Motor Speed Dial Ring, Back-Up Spring, part# 504196, reference #73 per the diagram at ht...

Re: Idler shaft gets super hot
I spun it with the sheaves on, it only turns 1 to 1.5 rotations, then stops.

Re: What parts are compatible on 500, 510, 520
Thanks. My idler looks exactly like #3. But, you’re saying #4 would be a better choice?

What parts are compatible on 500, 510, 520
I’m looking for some repair parts online. I need a quadrant, idler shaft. I have a mark v 500. Some of the listings say parts from a 510 or 530 will fit a 500. But I’m not 100% confident. I have a mark 5, serial is SS 42594.

Spinning it cold, stops before after a couple rotations.

Re: Idler shaft gets super hot
Follow up question on hot idler. I’ve taken it out, and spun it by hand. It spins, but not ‘freely’, ie stops rotating real fast, it doesn’t coast after I stop spinning it. Thoughts? Is it worn out?

Thanks. I’m new to this SS universe, just getting my bearings, pun intended.

When you say hot, how hot? Mine is almost to hot to touch. Thanks.

Idler shaft gets super hot
The idler shaft on my mark v (SS 41594) is getting super hot. I suspect the bearing is shot. I took the belts off, and it spins, but seems to have a lot of drag. I looked on eBay, but I can’t figure out what bearings will fit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
