Re: Speed gage doesn't rotate when turning handle

Make sure the motor is running before turning the speed dial. Doing so could cause damage.

Re: nova chuck2

Eccentric turning is off center turning. The shopsmith has that ability. The tail stock is adjustable for off center turning.

Re: Bandsaw - new blade won't stay on

Several years ago I had a blade that would not stay on. Put several blades on the bandsaw since with no problems. Check with Shopsmith About a blade replacement.

Re: quill shaft

My Shopsmith had a single bearing quill and would skip or bounce at the outer end of the bowl. Replaced the quill with a double bearing quill. That solved the problem. If you know someone with a double bearing quill try out on your SM.

Re: Oneway Revolving Live Center anyone have one?

I have had one for several years and it gets a lot of use in my shop. Oneway products are well made. Being able to attach different things to it is a plus. I have made large cones out of wood to hold bowls in place. Also with a adapter you can mount your Nova chuck to it. It comes with two small con...

I have had the segmenent turning for several years and find it very helpful. It is true that width of some rings may need adjusting. The program graphics will show which ones to adjust. I always fine tune my segmented pieces. The cutting sheet is very helpful. For those interested in trying segmente...

Take the blade insert off and put a pulley where the blade is. Use the table for a stand and put the belt on. It may be a little high but should work just make sure the blade is running the correct direction.

The above advise has been very good. I rebuilded a shopsmith a couble years ago that had a single bearing quill. It had a lot of wobble when turning that made it difficult to get a smooth bowl. I purchase the two bearing quill from shopsmith and it made a huge difference and I recommend that you con...
