Shipped the headstock to ShopSmith via FedEx Ground on 11 April. It should have arrived there on Friday the 15th. The packing material SS sent along with a few pages of specific instructions made it easy to pack the headstock for safe shipment. I'm anxious to hear both what causes the quill to stick...

FWIW you might try some of this stuff. It has removed ANYTHING stuck on most anything else for me.
The packaging says it will work on labels.
