Re: jointer cutter guard

I have a Jointer a bit older than yours. I upgraded it with the Feather Guard and the Dust Chute Retro-fit Kit. The dust collection is a great upgrade for older Jointers without it. I do have to mention for anyone reading this that has the Model 4E Jointer for the Model 10's that the dust chute wil...

Just purchased a used jointer - a model 505681-B serial #SS15321. It looks complete with the exception of the spindle hub. Re: Comments?

Was the box in that condition when it shipped? We don't not know. Let us learn the facts before we condemn. No In an effort to put this issue to bed, I called UPS this morning, provided the tracking number, stated the package was received and there were no problems with the contents (to remove any ...

Re: Comments?

I wonder if it was a repackage by the shipping company? I know I have received things in odd boxes and found out the original was damaged in transit and repackaged. Ed, that is certainly a possibility - I know the package was shipped on Friday the 13th (that was not a good omen) and was to be deliv...

Re: Comments?

Hi Dusty. I am not sure I understand your first question of "when was it packaged?" The box, as pictured, is exactly how it arrived at my office other than being opened by me. There was no delay in the tracking which eliminates the possibly that the box was misdirected and repackaged by a ...

Re: Comments?

I have not contacted SS about the matter but that is a good suggestion; if I knew how to contact the management of the company, I would. However, calling the 800 number and telling the rep on the line that the box is not a good representation of SS may go no further than "thank you for your cal...

Re: Comments?

Here are three pictures of the box...other than being opened by me and a pink sticky note placed over my address, this is how Shopsmith saw fit to ship its products to me. I don't care how "thrifty" one is being, this does not send a good message about things.
