It’s from a headboard that was going to be thrown out. The mirror is in perfect condition so I decided to repurpose it. It is very thin. Definitely not 1/4” but probably 3/16”. The weight will dictate that the hanger bolt or bolts will have to be in studs. Now it’s off to the drying room for a few weeks and about six coats of Watco.

Looks great. I would really like to see the profile from the end of the stock.

Here is an onside view of the profile as far as outside edge. Inside edge is a 45 degree chamfer.

I really love mirrors. Not only do they open up a room and make a space look bigger, they also bring light into the room especially if opposite a light source, like a window!
I like the look of your project.

Beautiful job. I am very jealous of your miters!
Any special tips you would like to share?

I cut the miters using a miter sled on the table saw that specifically cuts 45 degree angles for frames. It is set to as close to exact as I can get it. Then I insert a biscuit in each miter and use pinch dogs for the initial set up and then flip the frame over and use either bar clamps or pipe clamps and adjust tension to get them aligned. I like to use Weldwood plastic resin glue on the large frames because it has a very long set up time and stays slippery for an hour or so which gives me time to easily manipulate them.

Took the frame out of the drying room, installed mirror and mounted on wall today.
