This seems like a great idea and much of it does seems to be just that. I have two issues with it though. The first is that this should me a shop made piece and sold as it is as an alternative to making it yourself. That way you have everyone happy. This makes allowances for small adjustments and that could be a very big deal. Secondly, when I set mine up, I had no idea of where to put anything. I had lots of wasted space. I am still working on storing some of the basic items efficiently. It would have been a great idea to include a suggested plan on where to place what on the shelf. All in all, it makes thins very handy. I just find that once in a while, it gets to my knees while I am turning. That can be a rather unpleasant experience.

It looks like a good idea, but I want to use the MKV to build it. Are there no plans?!? I inherited my Mark V Model 500 and see that I may be missing pieces; like guards for the table saw, push block, etc. .

I was looking for FREE plans for this. Seems like it should have been a downloadable file. It will be easy to build and would have been a good 'break-in' project for someone starting to use their MKV. I had made a wall mount shelf to hold almost everything and will just have to redo (expand) it to mount on MKV legs. Agree with the other poster, you'll want to put a dust cover over it.

Not a good idea unless you cover your tools as they will get full of saw dust. If you can and have he space as I do , take that rack and hang it off the wall beside your shop smith.

This isn't high tech, but it's one of the best additions I've made. Everything is now right at my finger tips and easy to access when I need it. It also opened up storage space in my shop for other items. It isn't always perfect because it's designed to be flexible enough to work with any version of the Shopsmith.
