Work-Saving Jointer!
Get the precision square edges surfaces you need. You get superior precision unmatched by ordinary hand planes. Tabletops and other projects with wide surfaces are usually made from several narrow pieces of wood glued edge-to-edge, rather than one wide board with a tendency to warp. The Jointer dresses wood so when two boards come together, the joint is almost invisible. It's ideal for squaring large stock, such as 4" x 4" posts. Just run one side through the Jointer until it's flat and true. Then, cut the other three sides against the jointer fence.
Rabbet joints can be difficult to accomplish smoothly and accurately on a table saw. Do it easily with the Jointer. Just set the fence to expose the desired knife length and make your cut. Depending on the dimensions of the rabbet, you can usually do it with a single jointer pass, where it would take two cuts on a table saw.
Discover the Jointers many applications, including: tapering furniture legs, creating octagonal posts or columns, the removal of corners on lathe stock before turning, forming tongues for tongue and groove joints, and making recessed cuts, bevels and chamfers. The Shopsmith Jointer is the only machine offering individual blade leveling screws. Match-grind all three blades to the exact same size. Sharpen your blades and make individual blade leveling adjustments on the machine…not during the sharpening process. A single control knob makes all of the adjustments. And built in scale tells you how much stock is being removed during each pass. A power coupler is required.
