518502 4" Handscrew Clamp
These clamps are preferred by cabinetmakers because they will not mar the work surface like steel jawed clamps. They are the most versatile woodworking clamps ever devised. The design originated several hundred years ago and was originally made with wood threaded screws. We have made it with fine quality hard maple jaws, machined to close tolerances.The spindles and swivel nuts are made of high tensile strength cold drawn carbon steel. Threads have double leads (threads advance twice as fast as regular threads) for rapid operation. Unlike clamps with flat 60 degree V threads, our clamp has a true deep cut Acme thread for maximum engagement, which results in a high strength, very low friction thread, with long wearability for many generations of use. All metal parts are plated to prevent rust. The handles have heavy steel ferrules which are pinned ( not riveted) to the spindles with an extra heavy spiral pin..
