How do I search for products on Shopsmith.com?
You can search for products by either the Keyword Search or the Item Number Search. At the keyword search simply type in the word or terms you are looking for, with spaces between them. Then choose to match “All” or “Any” words and press the “Search” button or hit enter. On the item number search, type in the item number and hit the “Find Item” button, or hit enter. Back to top

Placing and Checking Orders

How do I place an order on-line?
When shopping online, simply add an item to your cart from any product page by clicking on “Add to Your Shopping Cart” button. At anytime you can view your cart by clicking on the “View Shopping Cart” link. Once you are in your shopping cart you can change the quantity of any items you have in your cart. Then click on “Update Cart” to view the new total. Once you are ready to check out you just need to click on the “Checkout” button and you will be transferred to our secure check out area. I know what part number I need, how can I order it on-line?
If you know the part number, you can go to the Item Number Search and enter the number. This will pull up the item information and you can add it to your shopping cart at that time. This can be useful for ordering directly from the printed catalog, a sale mailer or an owner's manual. Back to top

How do I change the billing address on my order?
You can change the billing address on your order by calling our Customer Service Department at 1-800-762-7555 immediately. All customer orders are processed within a few hours after being received. Orders received on Holidays and weekends are processed prior to 6:00 a.m. the following business day. What is the shopping cart?
The shopping cart is a file on your computer called a “cookie.” A cookie is a text file containing a unique identification number that is transferred from the web site to your computer's browser. A cookie does not allow access to any information about you that you have not volunteered. A cookie is used to identify you the next time you access the site. A cookie from Shopsmith is simply an ID number to allow you to retrieve your shopping cart and the items you have placed in it. Back to top

I try to add items to my order, but nothing appears in my cart. What is wrong?
If you are trying to place items in your cart and your items are lost, your browser is probably not set up to accept cookies. Please read the following instructions on enabling cookies.

How to activate cookies in Internet Explorer 5 or earlier

  1. On the desktop of your computer, go to the Control Panel. Find the Internet Options icon and double click it. If you are not sure how to get to your Control Panel you can click your Windows start button, go to settings and choose Control Panel.
  2. A new screen will appear. Click on the Security tab then click on the Custom Level button.
  3. Another new screen will appear. Scroll down until you see the area which says Cookies. Make sure you have both sections set to Enable cookies.

How to activate cookies in Internet Explorer 6/XP

  1. On the desktop of your computer, go to the Control Panel. Find the Internet Options icon and double click it. If you are not sure how to get to your Control Panel you can click your Windows start button, go to settings and choose Control Panel.
  2. A new screen will appear. Click the Privacy tab. You should either see a slider similar to the one pictured below, or the word custom (if you see the word custom, follow the instructions for advanced users instead).
  3. By default, this should be set to medium, if it is all the way at the top, move it down until the word medium is displayed, as this is the highest level which will allow the login cookie to work properly. Click OK, close all your open IE6 windows, and restart IE.

Instructions for advanced Users

  1. If you have not followed steps 1-2 above, do so now. Click the Advanced... button.
  2. Check Override automatic cookie handling and select Accept under both "First party Cookies" and "Third party Cookies." Also, Check "Always allow session cookies."
  3. Click OK out of internet options - close all your open IE6 windows, and restart IE.

Alternate instructions for those who require the medium-high or high privacy options

  1. In the Privacy tab, click Edit... in the Web Sites section.
  2. In The Address of Web Site box, type in http://www.shopsmith.com then click Allow. This will enable all servers in the shopsmith.com domain to set and read cookies unless you have the privacy settings explicitly set to block or allow all cookies.
  3. Click OK out of Internet Options close all your open IE6 windows, and restart IE.

How to activate cookies in Netscape

  1. Launch your Netscape program. On the toolbar go to Edit then choose Preferences.
  2. A new screen will appear. Click on the Advanced tab, then look under the Cookies area to make sure you have Accept all Cookies enabled.

We do our best to maintain stock on all of our items. But, occasionally out of stock situations do happen. To check the availability of an item, use the Item Number Search feature. We make every effort to ship orders in the USA within 1 business day. We also attempt to ship all orders complete. In the event your merchandise is damaged during its delivery...
1. Retain all packing material, cartons, and products from the delivery in the condition they were received.
2. Contact the delivery carrier and request an inspection within 15 days from receipt.
3. Call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-762-7555 for further assistance.
Failure to follow these procedures could cost you a monetary loss.

Does Shopsmith use cookies and what are they?

I want to sell my older Shopsmith, how can I find out the value?
Because there is no “Blue Book Value” to go by, we suggest customers wanting to sell units offer them at the price they paid. We can tell you that the Shopsmith MARK V seems to hold it's value extremely well and there is a large market for pre-owned Shopsmith equipment.

You may also want to consider looking on eBay or other online auction sites to see what people are asking/offering for unites.

Another suggestion is to contact the Shopsmith Users Group, they may be able to offer you other suggestions. OR Contact
Battles Hardware & Tool Company. They have been known to purchase older Shopsmith equipment.
