The Oneway
Lathe Chuck Systems presented here are precision made of the
highest quality materials and to the closest tolerances. Manufactured
in Canada, they represent some of the best values in the industry
when you add up their ease of use, features, capacities, dependability
and price.
Owning such a chuck system allows you to attach and detach
your turnings without unsightly screws or having to glue scrap
blocks to them for attachment purposes.
These chucks are precision machined with bodies of electroless
nickel plated steel for durability and corrosion resistance.
The jaws are made of carbon steel, precision ground then case
hardened to ensure that no action adjustments will be required
during the life of he chuck. A manganese phosphate plating
is applied to provide a smooth action without seizing.
These chucks are all of a self-centering design in which all
four jaws move in unison. The scientifically designed jaw
teeth provide a secure hold, whether you’re gripping end grain
or side grain and spread the pressure over a wider area to
prevent damage to the workpiece.
The Talon Chuck (above left) is a smaller capacity
chuck, but uses the more convenient, key-type, one-handed
tightening mechanism. You’ll pay a few more dollars for this
added convenience.
The Stronghold Chuck (above right) offers the largest
mass (provides the maximum workpiece “damping” action) and
capacity of the three chucks. Like the Talon, it uses the
key-type locking mechanism.
A 1-3/8-inch x 1/2-inch diameter coarse threaded, Wormwood
screw center is included with each. Just thread the screw
into a 3/8-inch diameter pilot hole in your workpiece and
clamp the opposite end into the Chuck’s jaws for a firm grip
with minimal tear-out.
Each Chuck comes with an adapter that is required for attachment
to the 5/8-inch spindle of the Shopsmith MARK V.
