The
Shopsmith Biscuit Joiner gives you tighter, stronger joints
than doweling or similar methods.
Just set your MARK V up in Drill Press mode, attach the Biscuit
Joiner and go to work, cutting small, half-oval-shaped slots
in the edges of soft or hardwoods. Then, glue special, football-shaped
biscuits made of highly compressed beechwood into the slots.
The biscuit swells on contact with the glue, creating a super-tight
fit that literally “locks” the joined boards together -- permanently!
A simple setting lets you control the depth-of-cut for the
three different biscuit sizes. Alignment accuracy is assured
by the biscuits’ uniform shape, size and the precision of
the slots cut by the Biscuit Joiner.
You can even slide the board back and forth to make lateral
adjustments for superior alignment. This is the joinery method
of choice for tofay’s woodworkers!
