With the Shopsmith MARK V, you
can also share various machine
set-ups, saving time and improving
your results
Shared Set-Ups:
With the Shopsmith MARK V, you can set up just once and often perform multiple operations by merely switching the spindle-mounted tool.
In this example, you make a single work-holding set-up and three quick tool changes to perform three completely different woodworking operations. And since you haven’t changed any of the work-holding set-ups, you’ll have ZERO chances for variations in the settings between individual machines… PLUS …you won’t be wasting time setting-up three different machines to be certain all angles are exactly the same.
Here’s how it works….
1: Set-up the work table and miter gauge to saw a
compound (shadow-box) picture frame miter. In our
example, we’ve tilted the worktable to 20-3/4o and
our miter gauge to 49o to make a frame with a 60o
tilt angle.
2: Without moving the table or miter gauge, we replaced the saw blade with the sanding disc and sanded our cut to the same, exact angles we just sawed.
3: Again, without moving the table or gauge, we replaces the sanding disc with the drill chuck and bored perpendicular dowel holes to reinforce the mitered corner joints of our frame.
With the Shopsmith MARK V, you’ll achieve more accurate
results than you could with individually set-up machines – PLUS – you’ll become a proficient user much faster since you’ll be using the same work table accessories and controls for all machine operations.
